Kitten licked pain spray. Is he okay after I washed his mouth?

Hello. If Mew is not having any digestive problems at this time, including no vomiting, diarrhea & he still has an appetite, he should be just fine. Washing him as soon as you discovered what happened was the best thing to do. Now, it is just a matter of making sure he continues to eat & drink. The ingredients can cause some irritation if swallowed, so offering things like broth & milk to drink plus warmed canned cat food is appropriate. If Boo ingested any through grooming I would expect stomach upset such as vomiting or diarrhea. If you wiped him down immediately and he is otherwise acting fine there is likely nothing to be worried about. If he has any abnormal signs mentioned above or is just not acting himself I would recommend that you have him checked out by your veterinarian.

Flea spray can cause a reaction such as you're describing, especially if she ingests some of it, which cats will often do while grooming. Hopefully it's just a reaction to the taste of the spray, and will pass quickly. If it continues for more than a couple of hours, or if she becomes lethargy or unsteady, take her in to the vet immediately, as she could have a more serious reaction to the medication. Also, if the spray contains pyrethrin, have her seen immediately, as this is highly toxic to cats.

It sounds like your cat has some chemical burns on his tongue, and I would be concerned he also have chemical burns on his esophagus. He needs to see a vet as soon as possible to have this treated, as he's not eating. Cats who won't eat or drink require a temporary feeding tube. Leaving him without eating and drinking will be fatal, and cats develop a fatty liver (which is also fatal without treatment) when they don't eat for longer than 72 hours. Because most chemical burns take up to two weeks to heal, he cannot be left without treatment. You need to take the trip to the nearest vet as soon as possible. Best of luck.
