My new kitten is scared and has a hard, swollen belly. What's wrong?

Hi! My name's Melanie and I recently purchased a kitten on craigslist, I already knew the kitten may come with a few fleas or even be sick, but my kitten is extremely frightened, does not want to be touched, or will not communicate with our older, friendly cat. he refused to eat yesterday, when we got him and I thought it could just be the change in environment but ten I noticed how big and hard his belly was and it worried me a bit. Poor baby! He is likely really scared of the new environment and unless you got him from a reputable breeder there is a chance he could be partially feral. Worh time he will likely become more
comfortable with you and your other cat but he may never be extremely friendly as that might just be his personality. With his abdomen being swollen, I would definitely have your vet take. Alook st him. Your vet will be able to ensure he is healthy, deworm him if needed and get him up to date on his vaccines. Be patient with him and watch him closely. I hope this helps!
