I care for feral and stray cats, one of them has a cold and I think maybe a chest infection what is the best thing to do as I would not be able to get them to a vet

Most upper respiratory infections in cats are viral and do not respond to antibiotics unless severe fever, thick coloured nasal discharge or increased respiratory symptoms develop. Your vet can prescribe the most appropriate treatment following exam

You need to take him back ti the vet, he will need to have a course of antibiotics in order to get better. this is most likely cat flu and it can be fatal if left untreated, take him to the vet ASAP.

This is probably an upper respiratory infection (cat flu). it's very common in cats and is very contagious to other cats as well.
I advise going to your vet asap to get him checked and start an antibiotic treatment right away.
