My kitten has diarrhea, is weak, and her bum hurts. What should I do?

I am a bit worried about dehydration, even with him drinking. Most of these issues are due to intestinal parasites, such as roundworms & coccidian. Your worming tablet may take care of the roundworms, but you really need to have the stool examined for any other problems. A consult with your veterinarian will be most beneficial in getting Beans onto the road to great health. Take care.

I recommend taking Stewie to the veterinarian to make sure he is ok. This may be a virus but it can also be intestinal parasites. I would bring a stool sample when taking him to the vet for check for parasites. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

I am so sorry that Koa is going through this. Regarding her belly I would say she most likely has intestinal parasites and it is a great thing that the vet dewormed her. If they did not run a stool sample I would recommend running one since not all parasites are covered under all dewormers. Regarding the lifting of her leg. I am wondering if they took blood on that hind limb. Typically with kittens that is where we get blood from and it may be bothering her. I recommend that you have Ivy evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Diarrhea in kittens can be due to a variety of reasons, including intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion, food intolerance, a virus or another underlying issue. I would recommend Oreo be evaluated by a veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for her diarrhea, have any necessary testing done (fecal analysis, etc) and start any treatment (dewormer, antidiarrheal, probiotic) that she may need to help resolve it.
