Why is my new kitten having diarrhea, shaking, and acting tired?

I am so sorry that Koa is going through this. Regarding her belly I would say she most likely has intestinal parasites and it is a great thing that the vet dewormed her. If they did not run a stool sample I would recommend running one since not all parasites are covered under all dewormers. Regarding the lifting of her leg. I am wondering if they took blood on that hind limb. Typically with kittens that is where we get blood from and it may be bothering her. Hello. Thank you for rescuing this kitten. I would be most concerned about this kitten having an infection & most certainly having a large number of parasites it its gut. Roundworms are especially common in kittens & can cause significant discomfort & diarrhea. It would be best to have the kitten seen as soon as possible as she may need some medical treatment to get her going on the right track. Parasites, viral infections (especially if not up to date on her core vaccines), dietary indiscretion (eating something other than her normal kitten food) or an intestinal obstruction can all cause vomiting and diarrhea. I recommend having both kittens examined by a vet as soon as possible, as it is likely that the condition is contagious. To speed up the diagnosis, I recommend bringing a stool sample from the sick kitten in a disposable container for your vet to check for parasites. It is important to have the sick kitten evaluated as kittens can quickly become dehydrated and have low blood sugar, making them feel even worse. While it is unlikely that your son got sick from one of the kittens, it is possible. I recommend that you have him seen by a physician if you are concerned.

It is concerning that Lola has diarrhea, and it could be that it is intestinal worms causing the continuing problems. She could have tapeworms, and those require praziquantel to kill. If the deworming medication she got didn't have it, that could explain the issues with her stool. I'd have her checked out by a vet in the morning. I hope this helps.
