My kitten is cold, sleepy, and had seizures. What should I do?

If she had what appeared to be a seizure, I would place a small amount of karo syrup on the gums and get her seen right away as her sugar level may be low. This could easily cause the seizures with low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Sick kittens oftentimes do not eat enough and will secondarily get hypoglycemia. If her temperature is low, it is important to try and bring it back up by placing her near a heat source (but not too close) and a heating blanket on top of towels so that it reduces the risk of burns to the skin from direct contact with the heating blanket. If she is not eating, you should administer 1-2 tsp of a sugar source such as honey or karo syrup and see if this helps. She may have low blood sugar. This also may be infectious and unfortunately the only recommendation for an infection would be to see a veterinarian for the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations. Oh, poor Dax! It really sounds like he's not feeling well. For a kitten this young, it is very important to make sure they eat, drink, and stay warm. You can try canned food or moistening dry cat food until it is mushy, a little chicken broth or tuna juice to entice him, or you can even try KMR cat milk replacer as a last resort. Keep him warm. I also recommend that you have your vet look at him to see if there is an infection, parasites, low blood sugar, or other problems.

Yes, these two signs are normal, a kitten's temperature is significantly hotter than ours and for that reason they may feel hot to us. they also tend to shaky at this age. it's important to keep them warm at all time and to feed him with kitten milk replacer every 2-4 hours.

You can try warming the food or mixing in a teaspoon of baby food into it. This could stimulate her appetite. You can also take her temperature to check for fever. Use a rectal thermometer and sterile lube. Normal temp is between 37 C and 39 C (100 F- 102.5 F). Anything above that is considered a fever and should be addressed by your veterinarian.

If she is having seizures she needs to be rechecked to see what is causing them. It is good that she is eating and drinking again. I would worry about a toxin or neurological problem from her past that is affecting her health

I am very sorry to hear about Cujo. Unfortunately, if all the other kittens have died, he is facing very bad odds. I would be very concerned about infectious causes of death, including fleas, intestinal parasites, bacterial infection, or viral infection including panleukopenia. If he is not interested in eating on his own, I would recommend bottle feeding or syringe feeding kitten formula as he can easily get dehydrated and hypoglycemic. Try to get him warm - you can use a heating pad set on low or put a towel in the dryer for a few minutes to warm it up. You can also hold him inside your shirt and rub gently. Hypothermic kittens are much harder to treat than warm kittens. You can also try rubbing honey or Caro syrup on his gums as a way to get some sugar into him.
