My 3-week-old kittens are quiet, cold, and not moving. What's wrong?

Loss of appetite and lethargy can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. Unfortunately, there is no way to help them without knowing what is going on. I recommend that you have them evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I hope by now you have taken them to a veterinarian. It is possible that they have an infection given on by the mother from when they were still in the uterus. (FeLV is one such infection). They may also be suffering from fading kitten syndrome. Please take them to a vet if you have not done so. There is no way we can diagnose your kittens over the net, nor recommend treatment.

These kittens may be suffering from fading kitten syndrome, or were born by a cat infected with FeLV. Since two kittens are already dead and the third kitten is showing signs, I suggest you take the remaining kittens to a veterinarian today, as this is an emergency. Sometimes supportive care can save them, however if they indeed suffer from one of these two diseases, there is a high mortality incidence. A veterinarian can examine and diagnose the problem and assess your kittens and hopefully treat them.

Take them into the vet immediately. Newborn kittens are very fragile, and if they become ill, they will go downhill quickly. Only a vet can diagnose what is causing them to die, and if there is a way to prevent that. Best of luck.

Usually kittens are rather playful at this age, but occasionally some are not very playful. It's good to check that she's not unhealthy though, because this can cause a decrease in activity. Check her gums - see if they are pink or white. If they are white, then he may have anemia. Check the belly - see if it's tucked in or is it round and distended. If it's round and distended, then he may have worms or other intestinal diseases. Most kittens get worms from their mothers, so if he has never had deworming medication, then it would be good to do this. Make sure he is eating and drinking well. Also make sure he doesn't have diarrhea or vomiting. These things can indicate that there is a disease causing him to be less active. They need to be fed about every 4-6 hours. If they are eating kitten food then you do not have to worry about milk and bottle feeding. Make sure they stay warm. They are old enough to be dewormed. The one kitten appears to have a discharge from the eyes, this may be a sign of a respiratory infection which is common in kittens. I would have them checked by the vet for medicine before it affects their appetite and spreads to all of them
