Kitten found with cold & limp. How to get vet care without money?

It can cause a fever, limping, oral ulcers as well as upper respiratory signs such as sneezing. It is known as the calicivirus. They may require medication. Unfortunately, if Lila is having trouble walking or seems in pain, she needs to be seen by a vet. Issues such as neurologic or muscular problems, cerebellar issues, illnesses, disease, nutritional issues, etc are all potential causes which is why a veterinary exam is so important in finding the cause and providing treatment. Please, check the foot for any swellings, wounds between the pads, broken claws, foreign material between the pads. That is sometimes the reason why cats limp. If it looks normal and touching the toes does not produce any pain or discomfort for Huntet, the problem is probably higher up in the knee joint, hip or pelvis. If your cat has been limping and not weight-bearing for over 24hrs, he really should be seen by a vet as there is are not home remedies that you can use to help him. If money is any issue at the moment, you may talk to your vets about payment plan or try and find a low-cost vet practice in your area.

This could be as severe as a fracture or something more mild like a soft tissue injury. The fact that he is crying when the leg is manipulated indicates that he is quite painful requiring pain control medications at least. If he does have a fracture, he may actually require surgery. For this reason it is crucial that he is indeed evaluated by a veterinarian. You could consider taking him to your local humane society as often times they offer less expensive veterinary care.
