My kitten ate grill grease and has watery diarrhea. What to do?

My kitten got outside and licked the grease from the gas grill. Now has watery diarrhea that she can't control.

If she is otherwise acting ok then you could withhold food for the rest of the day and offer her a small amount of a bland diet tonight. You could buy a gastrointestinal diet or try a small amount of boiled chicken. If the diarrhea persists, she starts vomiting, or becomes lethargic then she needs to be examined by a vet for treatment. Hope she feels better soon.

Diarrhea is a bit concerning, so I can give Koko a home remedy for it. Withhold food for 6 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck.

Withhold food for so long in such a small kitten is not recommended. Diarrhea is a signs referring to a intestinal problem. It could be due to parasitic infestation (very common in kittens) dietary indiscretion, inflammatory disease, bacterial diseases or viral diseases. You could provide bland food (boiled breast chicken or white fish or gastrointestinal commercial diet) for a 24-36 but, if she continues to have diarrhea, might get dehydrated and therefore need to be checked by a veterinarian. Also if you can spot blood in the faces or if she get lethargic and not eating, or if she start vomiting, I would suggest to have her checked by your veterinarian as soon as possible.  Good luck and post again on the forum if you need further advices. Kitten ate spicy food, now has diarrhea. When should I see a vet?

It sounds as though the chili sauce caused a bit of an upset stomach for Holly. Since she is still active and eating/drinking normally, it is perfectly reasonable to wait another 24 hours before seeking veterinary attention. You can try offering her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken to try to settle her stomach over the next few days. However, if Holly stops eat and drinking, becomes lethargic, or experiences vomiting or more frequent diarrhea, she should be examined by a vet more urgently. My kitten ate melted butter. What happens and what should I do?

Most likely she will have several bouts of diarrhea and perhaps some vomiting. The butter will create a sort of slip-n-slide and cause loss of fluid so it is important to give her small amounts of Pedialyte (if diarrhea or vomiting do occur) to prevent dehydration. Also a bland diet of tuna and rice can be given to help her stomach settle. She should slowly improve over the next few days as the butter exits her system.

I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Oh my goodness, Gerdou is absolutely beautiful! Yes, it is typically recommended to not feed a cat for a period of time when they are suffering from diarrhea. It allows their stomach to settle, and then a bland diet is introduced after this period of starving. For a 56 day old kitten, I wouldn't withhold food for more than 12 hours. After this time period, feed Gerdou a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. Hopefully she feels better soon, but have her seen by the vet again if the diarrhea continues on the bland diet.

I suspect the sauce is causing the diarrhea, and not likely the onions. There likely wasn't enough onions to cause issues. I can give you a home remedy for Maru to see if it helps.
