Are my kittens and mother cat Russian Blue, Korat, or Chartreux?

Pet's info: Cat | Russian Blue | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 26 days old

Can you guys, tell me what breed do you think these kittens (and their mother) are? They're supposed to be Russian blues, but I recently discovered about the Korat, and the Chartreux and wanted to ask just in case. Thank you! <33

They are all super cute regardless! It is too hard to tell in the kittens as they are so young. As for the mother. Unfortunately there is no way for us to distinguish between those 3 breeds from a picture. If you have pure bred papers then I would trust that or you can look in to DNA testing. I wouldn't buy a pure bred animal with out proof they are what the breeder says they are.

How do I find out my 3-month-old cat's breed? Vets weren't sure.

Cute cat! It would be hard to tell just by looks what breed she is, however I see some possible oriental background with the longer face, perhaps mixed with a domestic shorthair. The best way to find out breed is through a genetic breed test, which usually only requires a cheek swab that is then sent to a lab. It might be worth doing if you're curious about her breed!

Is a calico cat the mother of a gray and white kitten found together?

Calico cats are always female and can have grey tabby kittens depending on her and the father's genetics. The fact she is under the deck with the kitten makes me think she is likely the mother. But you can not tell based on her color pattern if she is or not. Good luck!

How do I figure out the breed of my new kittens without papers?

If you don't have papers on these kittens, they are almost certainly "Domestic Shorthairs" and "Domestic Medium hairs" (that third picture looks like a medium hair). This is the most common breed in the U.S., and the vast majority of cats here are this breed. Hope this helps.

How can I identify my cat's breed without a vet? Can I do it online?

Hello. The best anyone can do is call your cat a Domestic Shorthair. Perhaps in the future, we will have the ability to distinguish breeds through DNA , like we can do with dogs now. But, the entire cat genome for every breed has not been established yet. Can you tell my adopted cat's breed and age from these photos?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Fleki is very cute! He appears to be a normal Domestic Short haired cat. They can come in many colors and patterns. It is hard to be accurate about his age with out doing a physical exam and seeing his teeth. But I would guess around 1 1/2 to 2 years of age. Have a great weekend!
