Hello I need identifying my cats sex I think he’s a boy but I’m starting to think it may be a girl please help

Based on the distance between Comet's anus and genitals, I agree that he appears to be male. The picture is quite blurry when I try to zoom in, but it appears that from the top down, you can see his anus, scrotum, then penile opening (the penis itself is contained inside of this prepuce). I would expect more of a vertical opening for the vulva without anything above it in a female. I've included an article that has a rudimentary drawing that's pretty helpful.

This is unrelated, but I also see rice-like particles on Comet's hind end. These appear to be tapeworm segments, which can be acquired by eating either tapeworm infected fleas or rodents. I'd recommend asking Comet's vet about deworming him for tapeworms based on this picture.

From the attached picture it appears to be a neutered male - likely one that was neutered at a young age as I do not see the presence of a well developed scrotum. If you want, you can post another picture - including some of the tail all of the anus and everything below the anus. How to tell if my cat is a boy or a girl after a month?

It's hard to say for certain from the pictures, but I think this kitty may be a girl. At a couple months old, you should be able to feel testicles within the scrotum which is under the slit for a penis/vulva. If you can't gently feel testicles, then it's most likely a female, or possibly a male whose testicles did not descend.

My male cat has a pink and red lump near his anus. Is this normal?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! To orient you to his anatomy from your picture: to left by tail in the black fur is the anus (larger flesh colored circle). Going towards the right into the white fur the light pink tubular structure is the prepuce (sheath where penis lives) and the redder center is the penis itself. Everything in your picture is normal. My kitten's genitals look painful. Does it need a vet urgently?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Biscuit! The area looks very uncomfortable. I can not tell 100% from the picture what is actually going on. But the kitten appears to be male. The penis looks potentially prolapsed. I sadly think that the kitten needs to be seen in person by a Vet to determine if this is a congenital issue with the urogenital system or just superficial inflammation or infection. Why is my new kitten's bum red and swollen? Is it a boy or girl?

Poor little Chico! He could be suffering from intestinal worms, which are common in kittens and could cause the red and swollen bump. I would have him seen by a vet for this, and bring along a sample of his feces as well. The vet can examine his feces under a microscope of signs of worms, and can treat him accordingly. The vet can also let you know if he is a boy or girl. I hope this helps!
