What are these fuzzy round things in my cat's fur? Are they burrs?

I don't see the "alive" thing you are referring to. Honestly, I think if there is something alive in the seed then it is just coincidence it is on your cat. I think the burr just got stuck in the fur. I have never heard of caterpillars coming out of any hair. If it is in the burr on your cat it is only because it is stuck in the fur. Not because it is "living" there. I recommend you just keep him brushed out daily. If you are really worried you can also take these things into your vet so they can see them. It’s very difficult to see clearly as both photos are very dark and don’t really show the extent of the area you are talking about. You can try uploading a brighter photo. This may just be a large area of matted fur. This can be common if the cat does not or can not reach the area to groom. That is common in overweight cats. It is difficult to determine exactly what the bug-like object is. Possibly using clippers to remove the hair mat that is sticking up would help. That way, you could inspect the skin underneath to see if there is a problem. Since he goes outside, I recommend using a flea and tick prevention, like Revolution or Frontline.

From what I can make out in the photos this doesnt loom like a parasite infection, it actually looks like the mixture of skincells and sebum that animals shed from the top layer of their skin. It is a little like black heads in people. This 'scuff' is nothing to eorry about in itself, as long as the skin is healthy I wouldnt worry. If it annoys you you could yry giving her a skin supplement or bathing her in a shampoo for sensitive skin. I hope this helps.

Hi. These appear to be sebaceous like masses which are benign. They can get irritated and get knicked and scratched, and ooze, but usually they are not a problem. I cant say for sure that this is what they are without a full exam and sampling them, but that would be the most obvious with how they look

Lice are very species specific and can be found moving around on the skin and fur. Ticks attach to the skin also and appear to be as small watts. Dead ticks should be easy to remove. Most topicals that treat for ticks will also cover you for lice so you should not worry about that. If you can post a picture of the spots in the skin or what you removed it may help get your more information.

I am so sorry but the picture is too out of focus to see exactly what it is. It can be a bacterial infection but it absolutely can be ringworm.
