My FIV cat has severe congestion & mouth breathing. Is HomeoPet safe?

If you think Juliette still has a fever and is having difficulty breathing I would recommend going to the ER to be safe. It is possible that the trouble breathing is due to congestion and complete blockage of her nostrils, but occasionally cats can develop pneumonia secondary to a respiratory infection and chest x-rays might be recommended. Hello. I am so sorry that Dito is unwell. It is a little early to think the antibiotics are not helping, & usually, we give them 72 hours to see if they kick in. But it may also mean that he may need additional care. I would recommend speaking with your vet, especially if chest x-rays were not done. Dito may benefit from a little steroid or a bronchodilator medication to help open the airways. He may need several hours or a day or so in an oxygen tank. Until then, you can do some steam therapy in your bathroom to see if this loosens up the respiratory secretions & helps him to breath. I do hope he is feeling better soon. You can try to stimulate his appetite by adding some water or low sodium chicken broth to dry food, mixing in a little wet food and'or warming his food. Warming makes it more aromatic and therefore more appealing to a cat with a depressed appetite.
