My sick cat won't eat rice with chicken. Is just chicken enough?

One other thing that you could try to help entice him to eat some of the white rice would be to pour some low sodium chicken broth onto it to help it have more flavor and be similar to the chicken that is eating. In general since he will hopefully be on this bland diet for a short period of time, if he continues to eat only the chicken or protein in the meal, this will not cause any significant problems. It would be ok to eat a small amount of chicken, as long as it is baked and not fried. She also needs to eat cat food because an all chicken diet is not a nutritional balanced diet for a cat. If she won't eat both and is only looking for chicken than you may need to feed only cat food so she will start eating it again. You could try different varieties and see which one she eats best.

Cats can eat boiled white meat chicken. It should be plain. This is fine to feed for an unspent tummy or as a treat but this not balanced. Cats and kittens need to eat a balanced diet long term. I hope this helps.

Chicken and rice is good to feed when they have diarrhea, but there are special intestinal diets that are formulated, which are just as good. Hill's and Royal Canin both make this type of diet and it can be prescribed by your vet. One thing to keep in mind is that cats are obligate carnivores, so they simply cannot have a vegan diet. People can get away with it, because we are omnivores and know which foods to substitute for sources of nutrition that are high in meat. It's completely OK (and admirable in my opinion) for people to be vegan, but you will need to buy food with meat and other animal products for Runiyah in order to keep her from having a nutritional deficiency.
