Can my dog drink pool water or fall in? Is it safe for his health?

That is hot! Chlorinated pool water can cause an over drying of the skin. A baby pool full of tap water that is safe to drink is less likely to cause dry skin and is fine for the dogs to get in. Try to provide shade, elevated beds to allow circulation and fans if possible. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

It should be okay for dogs to swim if they want to, as long as it is sunny and they have access to dry bedding/towels. For the lab with arthritis, swimming is actually great exercise as it is low impact - just be careful with her getting in and out of the pool. I hope this helps and that all is well!

If he drank some he would develop ulcers in his mouth, tongue, and esophagus, depending on the strength. He would likely be drooling, have no appetite, difficulty breathing, panting and painful. If you aren't seeing any of these signs then he probably didn't contact any. If he is, he needs veterinary care immediately.

Hello. You just need to use your own senses. If the water looks very cloudy & there is obvious scum on the water & collecting on the shore, stay away. If the water smells particularly putrid, stay away. Basically, if you would not go into the water, neither should your dog & everyone will stay safe. Hello. It does not sound like anything is too serious with Frankie. If there was any aspiration pneumonia from the water, his symptoms would be worsening, not be intermittent. He may have swallowed a bit more pool water than normal that irritated his stomach or esophagus. He may be regurgitating a bit just from this alone. As long as he seems pretty normal, his resting respiratory rate is between 30 - 40 breaths per minute, then he may just have irritated things & should do fine in a few days. But if the coughing worsens, then this may be a case of tracheobronchitis that might respond very nicely to anti-inflammatory medication & an antibiotic. You are right to be concerned about Apollo walking on the pool cover. The best way to stop him from doing this is to take him out to toilet on a lead, as you can control where he does and doesn't walk. While on the lead, you can stop him from getting on the pool cover, and when he tries to get on it, you can tell him "off" in a firm voice while gently pulling him back from it. When he gets off the pool cover, you can give him a treat and praise. Praise him when he stays away from the pool cover to reinforce the behavior.

It could be possible but not likely. Teddy would need a fair amount of water in his lungs to cause a problem, which shouldn't happen during a bath. He should be ok, but you can monitor him to be safe.
