Is a storage bin DIY cat carrier safe for transport? What hole size?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 15 lbs

I will be transporting my 8 cats to another location 30 minutes away. I do not have enough cat carriers for my move, so I decided to make some cat carriers by drilling 14 holes, each 2 inches in diameter, through Sterilite storage bins. My question is, do the holes need to be smaller than 2 inches? I do not want any of my cats getting their heads stuck in a hole. Also, do you think this method of transport is ok for the cats? These guys are my life & I dont want any harm coming to them.

For a 30 minute transport, this is should be fine. There looks there are a lot of holes, which is good. I'd be surprised if they get their heads through the holes, but you can make them smaller to be safe. This is a very clever way to transport them! I hope this helps!

Hello. I would purchase a medium sized storage tote & coax Minka in. Or, you can place the tote over her, slip the lid underneath & carefully turn the tote right side up. Tape or secure the lid. It you have more than a 10 minute trip to your vet, make sure the tote has ventilation holes punched into it. Once you get to the vet, they should be able to handle her. Is my 42" crate big enough for my 14-year-old cat after moving?

That set up looks perfect for Kitter. Thanks for including pictures. The reality is that cats sleep when we are at work, so my only concern at 14 years old is that he is able to comfortably jump up to the second level in order to access his bed. As long as he is able to make that jump easily, I think he will be very comfortable in that cage while he gets acclimated to his new home. Good luck! How to transport a mother cat and her newborn kitten when moving?

They should be fine to travel together in a pet carrier. I would recommend using one a little larger than you would use if it was just Celestia. You could also put them in a moving box and secure a towel over the top to prevent Celestia from trying to get out, though this isn't as secure as a pet carrier.
