My cat has white spots near her tail and bum. Is it serious?

This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Possibilities include inflammatory disease, cancer, immune mediated disease, an infection, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They may have to take samples from the lesions to try to find out. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If this happens to be in the abdomen, it is possible that this is a nipple. If not, then yes I agree it could be a growth. In that case, I recommend you have Leo evaluated by your veterinarian for a test called fine needle aspirate which is an easy, quick and pain-free procedure which in the majority of cases will help reach a diagnosis to identify what the best course of action is based on the findings. In some cases, a biopsy is needed for a diagnosis. If it truly is benign then removal is not necessarily recommended. However, if it is malignant and it has not spread to other locations, then surgical removal is recommended. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something benign.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I understand your concern! It is hard to tell exactly what a skin mass is by just looking at it. You need either to biopsy or aspirate it for a definitive diagnosis. With that being said the bump on Kajoor appears to resemble a sebaceous adenoma. Which is more common in dogs. I would consider removing to for biopsy. If it is <8mm and Kajoor is a calm cat your Vet could consider removing it with a local block of lidcaine and a punch biopsy device. This would require an actual examination of the area to see what may be wrong so that therapy can be recommended. Hi there. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Sorry Cookie is having this issue. She really needs to be seen by your vet as soon as possible. That is a tumor but it is very difficult to tell exactly what type it is with just a photo. My best initial guess would be a benign histiocytoma but again, there is no way for me to know this for sure. I suggest you get her to your vet for an exam. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
