My cat came home weak and sick. What do I do before the vet?

The wound doesn't look infected or Bloody more like a scrape that has removed hair. I would simply keep him warm and comfortable until you get to the vets. Try and feed little and often as they can over indulge when they gave been away a while.

I'm glad to hear that he's going to the vet tomorrow because his vet will be able to examine him and perform any necessary diagnostic testing. In the meantime, continue offering small frequent amounts of Pedialyte or water, as well as trying to tempt Joey to eat with either meat baby foods, boiled chicken breast, or canned cat foods. Warming up any of these foods for a few seconds can make their aroma more noticeable, which can be enticing to some cats. I hope this helps and that Joey feels better soon!

Unfortunately there may not be anything you can do for Matt at home except to try to offer him tasty foods and encourage him to eat and drink. The fact that he has lost weight indicates that he may have an ongoing disease process. Many things can cause weight loss including kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, parasites, cancer and other causes as well. The only way to know for certain what is happening is if physical exam and blood work. Other diagnostics may also be needed. Most health conditions are best addressed early and need to be for the best prognosis. You may look into financing with a company like Care Credit or Scratch Pay. You can go online to find information about these companies and requirements. Certainly try to get a ride from friends and family. Other services may also be available like rideshare. Poor Boboom! I would be afraid that he was injured while he was out, either by an animal or possibly a car. It's very concerning the symptoms you are describing, and I think the best thing for him is to take him into a vet immediately. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. If you are that concerned maybe there is a local emergency hospital you can bring him too and have him seen immediately. If not, then try gently syringing water and canned food as a slurry. Poor Oreo! My main concern would be a possible viral infection that is affecting the nervous system. I would recommend making sure Oreo stays warm. You can take her temperature at home and monitor for a fever. I would start supplementing with taurine just incase she is deficient. I would recommend syringe feeding can cat food and you can even give her small amounts of maple syrup a few times a day. Unfortunately with such a small kitten supportive care if going to the best option until you can get her back to the vet for blood work to evaluate her organ function. Hope that helps!

Applying some Karo syrup or honey to her gums and tongue will provide some rapid glucose for her body to burn. You should try to force feed her with a good kitten milk replacer via bottle or syringe but if she is weak she might not nurse. Your best bet would be to get her to a vet immediately so they can evaluate her and then treat her accordingly while trying to figure out what is going on. Make sure she is nice and warm since small kittens cannot regulate their body temperature. Their normal temp should be around 99 degrees to 102 degrees farenheit. Not sure how old she is but you need to be stimulating her genital area also to get her to eliminate. Again these little guys can get sick very quickly and it's important you get her help as soon as you can. Good luck with her. I would also advise deworming her unless that was already done. Deworming should be done every 3 weeks after 2 weeks of age for at least 3-4 times.
