Why is my cat weak, lethargic, can't jump, but still eating well?

Lethargy can be a sign of many different diseases. I am not sure of his age but he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. He could have an infection, musculoskeletal issue, kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, thyroid issue, etc. Your vet can run some lab-work and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. He may need an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, or other medications, depending on the cause. Hope he feels better soon!

If this is new behavior it is possible that this is a sign of pain. Being overweight can lead to problems like arthritis, but while I can tell from your pictures that Ali is beautiful I'm not sure if he seems overweight. I'd recommend making an appointment with your veterinarian to bring up your concerns. From an exam your veterinarian should be able to let you know whether or not Ali would benefit from weight loss and may be able to determine if he seems painful as well.

Even if you are not able to locate his pain, it sounds like he is sore if he is limping. There is a viral disease in kittens that can cause a fever, lameness and ulcers in the mouth. The most common cause for an excessively teary eye is a viral upper respiratory tract infection and they can cause a fever. A fever can cause lethargy and not wanting to eat. Other possibilities are an injury to the eye that is painful. Since he isn't eating and lethargic he needs to be examined by a Vet. Cats shouldn't go longer than 2-3 days with out eating as they can get very sick from a secondary liver problem. I wish Allie a speedy recovery!

It sounds like he is getting sick. Without additional clinical signs it is hard to say exactly what is causing his lethargy and decreased appetite but he could be starting with a respiratory virus or a gastrointestinal virus. He could also have parasites that need to be treated. If it continues than he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. I'm sorry that Lilly isn't her normal self lately! You are correct that if she fell hard, that could be the reason why she isn't as active lately. She could be painful, even though she is still running and walking normally as cats can be good at hiding their pain. Given this has been going on for a week now, I'd recommend having Lilly seen by a vet for a health check. It's also way good to have a cat checked out by a vet when they are acting differently than normal. The vet can let you know if she is in pain or if there is a medical cause behind her change in behavior, and how best to treat it. It sounds like poor Olive is sick. Anorexia and lethargy can be signs of many illnesses such as a systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. It's actually quite serious when a cat isn't eating, and I would take her into the vet as soon as possible. The vet can diagnose the cause of her symptoms, and can treat her for it.
