My cat is throwing up and has blood in his stool. What should I do?

  Blood in the stool indicates inflammation with in the colon. From your picture the stool also looks looser than normal. It is likely the bloody loose stool and the vomiting are connected and she is suffering from gastro-enteritis and colitis. There are many causes for this: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, or a food allergy or intolerance.
  
  Sadly cats are special and there are not many at home options. You can try a probiotic and see if things improve. I would recommend ideally a vet exam so they can provide appropriate medications (anti-nausea medications, metronidazole and a bland gastro-intestinal diet like Hill's i/d). It is very important to not wait long if she is not eating or continues to vomit.

  It sounds as your cat is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

  Vomiting along with bloody diarrhea can be a sign of GI irritation caused by many things including pancreatitis, internal parasites, GI upset, illness and more. It would be best to bring Ting into a vet ASAP to have her examined and find the underlying cause. She may need treatment such as fluids to treat any dehydration, and medications to help her improve.

Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. Also, black stools are usually a sign of bleeding in the stomach or small intestine which could be also due to the conditions mentioned above. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Midnight evaluated by an emergency veterinarian that is perhaps open for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. I would not recommend Vaseline for hair balls especially since the hair balls are less of a concern with the other more concerning symptoms occurring. Good luck and have a good night!
