Why do my cats have vein-like lumps under their skin? Is it worms?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 3 months old | 10 lbs

I have 6.. 1 1/2 ur old cats and one momma car who are all indoor cats I've been fighting fleas and tape worms forever but finally got them flea free and treated for worms tape. Two of the cats have vein like lumps under their skin mostly on back of hind legs could this be worms?

Although some intestinal parasites can migrate under the skin in people, this doesn't usually happen in animals. Assuming you've been using a good quality dewormer that gets tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms, I doubt that what you're seeing are worms. Certainly cats do have veins under the skin, so perhaps that's what you're seeing, but I'd have to say I don't think I've seen anything that sounds exactly like what you're describing. I commend you on your efforts to get rid of the fleas and tapeworms - that must have been a nightmare! - but I think you're going to have to show these lesions to your vet for a definitive diagnosis.

This is most of the time differentiated with a test called a fine needle aspirate which is easy, cheap and pain-free. Sometimes, a biopsy is required for a diagnosis. Have Bumble bee evaluated by your veterinarian to have this test performed to try to sort out what the diagnosis is so that the best course of action can be determined. They could evaluate his nails as well which he could potentially have an infection going on. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something benign!

This may be a cuterebra. A cuterebra is basically a maggot that has burned into the skin, and the hole is so the maggot can breath. You need to take your cat into a vet asap to get this removed. I hope this helps!

My cat has a red bump and hair loss. Could it be fleas or worms?

If Spade had fleas, I would expect that he would have multiple red bumps that would be very itchy and would cause him to overgroom. It could be that he injured himself causing the red bump, and at this point in time I would not be too concerned about it. You can make sure that Spade is up to date on his flea treatments, and I would make sure he is up to date on his deworming treatments as well if you found a small worm near his litter box. If you see more bumps appearing and he starts overgrooming or becomes very itchy, then I would have him seen by a vet to confirm if he does have fleas or not.

My cat has a soft, bleeding lump on her side. Could it be cancer?

This is likely a mass and it should be examined by a veterinarian. Since it is apparently growing and bleeding because the skin is overstretching, it should also be removed surgically, whether it is benign or malignant. this should happen very soon, as the wound will be prone to bacterial infection. This is not heartworm. Please make an appointment with your veterinarian. She is a beautiful cat!

My kitten has fluid-filled lumps on its back. What should I do?

Hello. It is very unlikely that this is cancerous, but what it actually requires is a hands-on examination. My first inclination is the presence of a single fly larva under each swelling. Warble flystrike is a common problem in young cats during the summer. This may also just be what you described, some type of benign cyst, but It is unusual enough that I really recommend letting your vet take a look at this. Why are there small white moving worms on my cat's fur?

It could be Pants has intestinal worms such as tapeworms. You will need to take him into the vet to get this diagnosed and to get medication, as tapeworms require praziquantel to treat, which is prescription only from the vet. Best of luck.
