Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 9 years and 2 months old

I just brought my cat home from the vet after he has had a UTI they gave me some food and medicine to give him. And right now he is laying on his side and grunting in pain. Im not sure when they last gave him some pain medicine and I dont know if he is in pain from the catheter or what. What can I do doctor?

It is best to have him checked over to make sure that he is able to pass urine, or this could turn in a life threatening condition. I would not give him any pain relief, because it could cause a worsening in his kidneys function if he is unable to pass urine. Hope this helps and that Ninja gets better soon.
