My cat got truck oil on his back. What should I do about the red spot?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | 12 years and 8 months old

My cat got some oil from my truck on his back and now they're is a red spot where the fluid was this happened on Monday now it's Thursday. It doesn't seem to be bothering him I've been wiping it with a damp paper towel. Thanks for your time

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Spotty may have experienced some irritation from the chemical, ranging to a chemical burn. You should definitely keep an eye on the area to make sure that it does not begin having discharge, increased redness, or crusting. If any of these signs occur, Spotty should be seen by a vet as soon as possible. I hope all is well and am happy to look at any photos or answer any other questions you have!
