My cat had vaccine reaction. Are tremors/itching normal after epi?

Hello, sorry to hear about Benita. She may be having an allergic reaction to the vaccine. These may be mild to severe reactions. If she continues to tremble, develops vomiting, or becomes lethargic then she should be seen by your veterinarian back immediately. She may need allergy medications or even an injection of steroids to control her allergic reaction. Hope this helps and best of luck.

It sounds like a type of vaccination reaction. This could last 24-48 hours. As long as he is eating just monitor him and make sure he doesn't get worse. In the future it is recommended he not receive all of those vaccines and deworming at once.

Vaccine reactions are rare and we usually see facial swelling and hives more often in dogs but I do think that Peanut may be having a vaccine reaction. You should take her to a emergency Vet. The mainstay of treatment for a vaccine reaction is outpatient. They give injections of steroids and possibly an antihistamine. Peanut will likely be sent home with steroids as well. I do not recommend giving her any human medications. Cats are very sensitive to medications. I hope this helps and good luck!

I am so sorry that your cat Milo is ill following vaccines. These are classic signs for a vaccine reaction, and therefore I recommend having him seen by your vet right away. If you vet is currently not open, then I would consider taking him to your ER vet to make sure he is stable and ok. He will likely get medications (antihistamine +/- steroids) to help combat the reaction. I do hope that your pet Milo is able to make a full and speedy recovery. I would notify your vet about this as soon as you can so that precautions can be taken next year when he is due for his vaccine boosters to help prevent this from happening again. It is certainly possible that he is having a vaccine reaction. If tomorrow morning he isn’t back to normal then I would call for a follow appointment with your veterinarian as soon as possible. They many need to give him some medication for nausea. Also, they will want to document the possible reaction so that next time he needs vaccinations he can be given medication ahead of time to prevent a reaction. Poor Jasper! The timing of his signs certainly correlate with his vaccine. Not eating and lethargy (as well as vomiting, diarrhea, facial swelling and hives) can be signs of a vaccine reaction. Vaccine reactions are uncommon, but do happen. If Jasper still isn't eating by later today, I would give your vet a call to have him rechecked. Some vaccine reactions require steroids and/or antihistamines for treatment.

This can be normal! You can see some vomiting after getting vaccines and given that Faelan only vomited once, I would not be too worried. Plus he sounds like he is otherwise acting normally. I would keep an eye on him and if you see protracted vomiting, diarrhea, signs of an allergic reaction (facial swelling, difficulty breathing, then I would be worried and rush him into an ER vet immediately.
