What's causing my cat's swollen nose with recurring pus and blood?

In a 10 year old cat, it's certainly possible that your cat has a tumor. Given that he has been having continuing problems with this swelling, I recommend having further testing done such a blood tests, urinalysis, and x-rays of his head. Other causes of true bleeding from the nose may involve something traumatic, primary nasal diseases, tooth root abscesses, and certain cancers of the mouth and oronasal cavity. If you are able to obtain a temperature on Monroe at home, I would suggest it (look for between 99.5-102.5). You can also take a look at his gums for a moist and pink appearance. Dryness and paleness may be indicators of blood loss or dehydration. Regardless of your findings, I would certainly recommend having Monroe looked at sooner than later particularly if the bleeding you are seeing is significant in quantity. Hope this helps!

However, I think a fungal infection like cryptococcus seems more likely and that would only respond to anti-fungal therapy. Another possibility is cancer such as squamous cell carcinoma. I recommend you consider having him reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. May be a biopsy could be done at this time since it has not improved.
