Why is my cat suddenly vomiting food and furballs more often?

While vomiting hair occasionally is normal for some cats the increased frequency you have described is concerning. It is possible at Midnight is grooming more due to a seasonal coat shedding or she may have some underlying intestinal irritation contributing to the vomiting. Cats that hunt are at higher risk for parasites and this can also contribute to vomiting. If the increased frequency of vomiting continues or if you notice any other signs such as decreased appetite, lethargy or weight loss, I would recommend that you have her seen by your veterinarian. Brushing Meezer daily to remove excess hair will help reduce the hair balls and therefore the vomiting. You can also give cat laxative twice weekly to reduce the hair balls. Feeding several small meals will help too as cats who eat large amounts quickly tend to vomit more frequently. In general healthy cats tend to vomit off an on regardless. It's probably something more serious. chronic vomiting can be caused by various conditions (foreign body, pancreatitis, lymphoma, IBD and more...), you will need to take her to the vet in order to get checked and have a blood test done as a first step to try and find out what is causing this.

Many cats routinely vomit from eating too fast, hairballs, or for no specific reason. Since Mikie is long haired he may have hairballs causing him to vomit. Often the hairballs are forming in the stomach and are not always vomited up, even though they are present. The possible causes of for vomiting are numerous. The fact that you recently moved (be in a month ago at this point) could play a role potentially as stress is a definite cause of GI upset in cats. Other causes can be dietary, gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, kidney / liver disease, allergies, foreign objects, and even cancer in some rarer cases in a young cat. Since there have only been episodes of vomiting total at this point, I wouldn't be particularly concerned as of yet. Common causes of vomiting in cats includes hairballs, food allergy, eating too fast, GI blockage, intestinal parasites, IBD, intestinal lymphoma, hyperthyroidism, systemic disease (liver, kidney, pancreas, diabetes), among others. You can remove her food and wait 6-12 hours to see if the vomiting stops. Then only give her small amounts of her food. If the vomiting continues tomorrow, Mochi should get checked out by her vet.

Chronic vomiting could be due to kidney failure, pancreatitis, hyperthyroidism and many more medical conditions. i would recommend having a blood test doe at your vet's, this should help revile what is causing this.
