My cat is suddenly having seizures and diarrhea. Is this serious?

Poor Jack sounds quite sick, and I'm wondering if he has seen a vet. The seizures are pretty serious, as is the vomiting that has just developed. He should see a vet immediately, I'd take him into one now.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Seizures can occur due to many reasons that go from a toxicity, metabolic diseases, inflammatory diseases and even tumors. I highly recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. Diagnostics that will be recommended will include bloodwork and advanced imaging such as an MRI. Hi. Poor Chewy. Each seizure takes a full on the body and brain, so he does need veterinary care and assistance. There isn't anything at home or from this site that we can recommend in this case other than he needs to be seen right away. The potential causes of these seizures include a congenital disease of the brain, an infection in the brain or affecting the brain, toxins, trauma, or unknown cause of epilepsy. Please get max seen right away.

Seizures in cats are not normal and are very serious. There could be an underlying medical problem or this may be from a toxin ingestion. I'm not sure what to tell you do as I have no idea what products/medications you have available to you. The cat should see a vet. You can try giving her some milk if she will drink it. DO NOT force it down her throat. If it is a toxin ingestion that may help.

Oh no, poor cats. They have to see a vet immediately. It's very serious they haven't eaten in 24 hours. If cats go long enough without eating, they will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. Please take them into a vet now.

Poor Snow! If he has no energy and can't even stand up, this is a very serious problem - he needs to see an emergency vet immediately. This would not be caused by withholding food for 10 hours; severe lethargy or weakness like this is generally a sign of a serious illness such as feline panleukopenia. Your vet can do some diagnostic testing to help determine what's wrong and get him started on appropriate treatment. I would recommend taking him to see the vet right now, as this may be a life-threatening problem.

Diarrhea could be caused by parasites, change in diet, toxin ingestion, infectious viral diseases, blockage in the intestines caused by ingestion of a foreign body, or a mass/growth in the gastrointestinal tract. Please make an appointment to have Jerry seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible for diagnosis and treatment, as diarrhea, particularly in a youngster such as Jerry, can lead to dehydration and can be very dangerous if left untreated. I’m also concerned that Jerry is unable to walk normally, as this could indicate a number of things, such as a muscular issue, joint problem, infection, weakness/ malnutrition, or a fracture. Please have him examined by a veterinarian asap to help prevent progression of his symptoms and to give him the best chance at recovery.
