With the limited history and not being able to hear what this noise sounds like, it is difficult to say what the cause could be. Inflammation or infection can cause changes to the way an animal breathes as well as something stuck in the airway. If this persists or worsens, I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at Eva so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Abnormal breathing can be a sign of many conditions such as pneumonia, bronchitis, heart disease, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include thoracic radiographs and bloodwork. My cat's purr sounds like breathing stops. Is it allergies or URI?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! What a good description! I know the noise exactly! If this is a new sound for her when purring then it could be mild nasal congestion from an upper respiratory tract infection URI) or allergies. Most URI's are viral and run their course in about 2 weeks. I think as long as she is eating/drinking, active and not doing the noise any other time then when purring that it is okay to monitor her for now. I wish you both the best!

If yeezy appears to be in respiratory distress at all, I would recommend he be examined by a veterinarian for further testing and treatment. Cats tend to get polyps at the back of the throat that can cause a change in meowing and purring and result in some nasal discharge or sneezing. I recommend having Mody seen by a vet as soon as possible to rule out these conditions or any secondary infections. I hope all is well!

My cat's breathing sounds like fluid. Could he have inhaled medicine?

Hi there. Usually inhalation would not cause fluid in the lungs, but I would recommend having Baby seen by your vet if you suspect any lung issues. These can be progressive and get worse rapidly, so if you're able to have Baby checked today that would be a good idea.
