My cat has stomach spasms. Is it an emergency or can I wait?

The spasms could be seizures. Have her physically examined by your veterinarian or a veterinary neurologist to diagnose the underlying cause. In the meantime, the vet may dispense medication to control or prevent the spasms/seizures. Keep her as stress free as possible, since stress may be a trigger for the condition.

It's quite hard to appreciate exactly what you mean without seeing these tremors. However, it is very promising that he was otherwise well during the day. It may simply be movement of the muscles during sleep which often happens. Alternatively he may have strained a muscle and it could be in spasm. If the issue persists I would certainly go to your vet and have him examined. If the seizures occur for more than 2-3 minutes or happen more than once a month then it is warranted to get Casper started on anti-seizure medication. Another possible cause of the muscle spasms is a toxin exposure, which would require immediate medical attention and would results in spasms that are continuous and don't resolve.

She could also have a systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain, but I would monitor her for now. Should she continue to have these symptoms in 24-48 hours, or she stops eating, drinking, becomes lethargic, or starts vomiting and having diarrhea, I would have Frida seen by a vet.

Poor Tickle! If she is unable to pee, this is a medical emergency. It could be she is suffering from a urinary tract obstruction. Typically this occurs most often in male cats, but it can happen in female cats and signs include an inability to pee, severe pain (which she showed by panting), and vomiting. She needs veterinary care, as if she does have a urinary blockage, it is fatal without treatment. Please take her into a vet immediately.
