My cat acts like a toddler. Will spaying calm her and reduce odor?

Baby is not yet sexually mature at 2 months, so spaying will probably not affect her behavior much at this point. Once she reaches sexual maturity her behavior could be affected, so I would still recommend having her spayed before 5 months of age. Lots of play time and toys are necessary at this age, and as she gets older she should gradually calm down a bit.

Hi! It sure sounds like a behavioral problem, as she is trying to put her scent over the dog's scents. Spaying her might help, but she may now be in the habit of urinating/defecating on these items. There is a technique called "litter box retraining", where you confine her to a small room, with just her litter box and no other soft surfaces to use as litter. Once she consistency uses the box, you slowly give her more and more freedom. Hope this helps! And, cats usually prefer, non scented, clumping litter, without a litter box roof.

That must be so frustrating for you! I recommend taking her into your vet if you haven't already to rule out a medical cause behind this behavior. Cats with a UTI will urinate everywhere, and she will need antibiotics to treat it if she does have one. Once a medical cause is ruled out, I would recommend spaying her. Female cats will mark to attract a male, and spaying her will help decrease this behavior. Even if it is a UTI causing this, I would still recommend spaying her. She may continue to mark to attract a male, and spaying will have many health benefits for her, including prevention of a pyometra ( a life threatening infection of the uterus) in addition to decreasing the marking behavior.

Hello. If Pipi is in heat, & it sounds like she might be, spaying her will really help. But she is young & she will have occasional episodes of the zooms for some time to come. Assuming that Niyla’s vocalization and need for socialization are related to her going into heat, then yes, it is quite likely that having her spayed will help this behavior to improve. There could be other anxiety-related behaviors at play, but I would consider first having her spayed and then watching to see if these issues resolve. She probably wants to go outside and has had a change in attitude because she is becoming sexually mature. If you are not planning on breeding her then she should be spayed (sterilized). This will probably stop all these unwanted behaviors.
