More then likely she is having a flare up of an upper respiratory virus with the stress of surgery. Most cats are exposed to these viruses, such as cat herpes, and stress can elicit a flare up. Sneezing, runny eyes/nose, congestion, etc. are common. If there is any discoloration to any discharge, cough, or she is not eating well a recheck with your vet is indicated. These may be signs of a upper respiratory infection or tracheal irritation if she was intubated for her surgery. Either can cause inflammation in their throat and affect their sinuses. IF this pattern is still occurring, then i would have your vet rechecked. SHe is likely already on an antibiotics since she had an infection prior to the c section, but they can add medication to help with the sneezing and coughing/retching to help her comfort and recover.

A lot of cats have viral infections such as influenza, herpes and calici, that come and go. They hide in the system and recur usually in times of stress. The move has likely caused a virus to reemerge. It should clear up by itself but if she becomes very unwell it would be worth a vet visit. The initial viral stage has likely caused a high temperature which could be putting her off food.

Yes definitely take Binx into the vet. It sounds like she may have an upper respiratory infection and the eye discharge indicates an eye infection. Any eye problem needs to be checked out by a vet promptly as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Please take her into the vet first thing in the morning.

This sounds like she has an upper respiratory infection that is making her sneeze and vomit from the sneezing, coughing and nasal discharge. Generally cats get over colds in a week or so without treatment. Since Mieko is seventeen I’m more concerned about her since she could become dehydrated if she’s not eating and drinking normally due to having a head cold. I do recommend a veterinary exam and treatment. She may need fluids under the skin to keep her hydrated and perhaps medication to stimulate her appetite. Often dogs and cats vomit when they have a cough so I don’t think the vomiting is the main concern but certainly does need to be addressed if it continues. In the meantime you can use a warm damp cloth to keep her nose and eyes clean of discharge and heat up small meals of wet food with added water to keep her eating. I put it in the microwave for eight seconds which brings out the aroma since cats often stop eating when they can’t smell the food. If she’s not had senior blood work recently they may recommend that also to check her kidney and liver function, and check for anemia and infection. Antibiotics are given only when a viral cold turns into a secondary bacterial infection. You are right to be concerned with an elderly cat so please take her in for treatment so she can get over this quickly. Hello, sorry to hear about Junie. It sounds like she may have an upper respiratory tract infection or perhaps allergies to something new in her environment. Both are typically self limiting and should resolve within 10-14 days. If Junie continue to eat and drink normally and she is otherwise acting like her normal self, then you can continue to monitor her at home. Consider having Cinder examined by your veterinarian to diagnose medical causes for the vomiting. Vomiting is a very non specific symptom having multiple causes. It may also be due to the stress of a new environment. Pheromone products such as Feliway spray or plug in diffuser may decrease any anxiety. You can feed smaller amounts of food more frequently to see if that helps decrease vomiting episodes. A 24 hour fast followed by a bland diet in small, frequent amounts may also be used to manage symptoms. Your veterinarian can dispense anti-emetics if indicated.
