My cat is sneezing, not eating, and lethargic after vaccination.

Hi, It could be cat flu if he hasn’t been vaccinated. If not he could have inhaled something irritant. Is there anything new in the environment ? It is difficult to advise without checking him over. Cat flu is extremely infectious but other conditions could be foreign body inhalation, allergy, nasal polyps or bacterial/fungal infections. If he is lethargic I would suggest to have him checked over.

If smudge is not eating or drinking I strongly recommend a visit to the veterinarian. He may have an upper respiratory infection or virus, which can cause fever, lethargy and decrease in eating. Depending on what the veterinarian fines smudge may need antibiotics or antiviral medication or other treatment to get him eating and drinking again. Good luck and I hope he's feeling better soon.

These types of vaccines are not commonly known to cause signs like you have described as an adverse side effect. The most common vaccine reactions are typically localized effects on the injection sites, decreased energy level / lethargy, less commonly some vomiting, and then much more rarely respiratory distress / anaphylactic shock. It possible that Felix could have had a cold before the vaccine was administered, the vaccine weakened the immune system, and you are now seeing the clinical signs. Conversely, this could be something completely new and unrelated. If it is a simple cold or viral type of infection, it will clear up on its own after a few days. If there is a bacterial or fungal component, medication will be needed.

The sneezing is most likely from being exposed to viruses is the air at the veterinary clinic. This is like kids going to school and getting sick from being around lots of different children. Aw, I'm sorry to see that Cat isn't feeling so great! It is highly unlikely that the vaccine actually caused this condition to occur. Vaccines can certainly cause immunosuppression, but I do not believe that this is the direct cause of vaccination. Vaccine reactions almost always occur within minutes to hours after the shot is received. It is likely that your kitty has come down with an upper respiratory infection that will require treatment. Antibiotics, ophthalmic medication, and immunosupportive care will all be required. If she has a fever, she may also require some anti-inflammatory medication and fluids. I would get her to the vet some time today, or tomorrow at the latest for care. Hope this helps.

Sometimes vaccination reactions can cause the symptoms you are seeing so it would be advisable to have her looked at so the reaction does not progress.
