My indoor cats just got shots. Can they safely go to a cattery?

It is possible that you could spread the disease, but if your cats are appropriately vaccinated they should have some degree of immunity to it. Keep an eye on them for changes in behavior/illness and call your veterinarian if anything changes.

As long as you are sure your cat was vaccinated the risks are very minor, vaccinated cats very very rarely contract the disease. i would still recommend keeping them apart until the new cat is completely recovered.

First of all he isn't too young just as long as he is fully vaccinated. you should make sure this is a nice boarding place, not a huge one if possible, they don't need to be vet clinics (those are usually less comfi for the cats). just bring him some of his toys, his bed and his food, he should be fine!

Because Jiji hasn't been vaccinated before, she will need at least two rounds of vaccines given four weeks apart in order to have full immunity. Vaccinating her on Monday will not be enough to protect her. Make sure your dad fully cleans the room, and bring your own food and water bowls as well as litter box so that she doesn't share anything with his cat. Yes, they should both definitely be kept separated until the other can has had his second vaccine. That's to make sure they are both afforded immunity from serious disease and cannot pass it to each other. It's only temporary. I know Rusty is lonely and bored, but it won't be forever, and then they can play with each other :-)

There are veyr few conditions other than intestinal worms which are easily transmitted between dogs and cats but it can be very stressful for both dogs and cats to be mixed depending on the nature of their characters. I recommend a trial visit before you proceed with making plans!
