Can a cat experience seizures after jumping from a high place?

It is a medical emergency if your cat hits their head and starts having seizures. It can indicate serious trauma to the head. Langston needs to be seen by a vet immediately, please take him into a vet now.

Take your kitten to a veterinarian as soon as posdible in the event of trauma like this. Many things can happen including broken bones, damage to the lungs, lacerated organs, etc. Many times they fall on their faces and have facial or jaw fractures. A full exam will be performed and xrays will likely be recommended. Hopefully your kitten is okay and some pain medication can be prescribed. It could be an idiopathic seizure, meaning there is no known cause. There is a potential it could happen again, so I do think he should see a vet as soon as possible to get checked out, taking him into an ER vet tonight if you can. Best of luck.

If your cat is having seizures, an exam with your vet or at the nearest veterinary ER is strongly recommended. Go as soon as possible. Repeated seizures can cause permanent damage or may kill. Seizures can be caused by infection, trauma, toxicity, tumors or other neurologic conditions. It is important the seizures are controlled temporarily while diagnostics determine a cause that can be treated. At 17 years old, quality of life and euthanasia may need to be discussed if the seizures cannot be controlled or a diagnosis cannot be reached.

The most common cause of seizure is epilepsy, which is basically seizure from unknown origin, it's usually treated successfully with anti seizure meds. other possibilities include intoxication, brain tumor and head trauma.

Poor Lizzy. I'm concerned she had a seizure, and in a senior cat that could be caused by something really serious like a brain tumor. If she did have a brain tumor, that would affect her hearing and vision. Having a seizure is really disorientating to a cat, and it will take her time to return to normal.
