My cat still has scabs after flea treatment and diet change. Why?

Fleas and allergies to fleas can set-up an environment for infection. It's possible that this is complicating the recovery process. The skin will often start to heal once the fleas are gone, but it's worth treating for infection by giving a bath with a medicated cat shampoo (can get this at the pet store). I recommend discontinuing the use of the other products (except the flea control) for now, because overuse and misuse of certain products can actually delay healing or make the problem worse. For instance, I worry about the use of the coconut oil, because fungal and bacterial infections will thrive in the coconut oil. It's best to just give a bath with the medicated shampoo once every 2-3 days, until the skin starts to look normal. It's expected that it will take a month or more until the cats start to look normal again, so stick with it and they should get through this fine. Treating for fleas is not just restricted to the host, because fleas can reproduce and nest in the environment and continually cause an issue. George's itching can be caused by a reaction to the fleas, a secondary skin infection, ringworm, or other skin parasites such as mites. George may need antibiotics, medicated shampoo or ointments to resolve the issue completely. It looks like she has a dermatitis/skin infection most likely from the fleas. She really should be treated by a vet who can prescribe an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory to treat the skin problem and give her some relief. You could also bathe her (if she will let you) with a medicated cat shampoo, like Epi-Soothe and see if that helps.

A flea product (from a vet- not over the counter) would not hurt her, even if there isn't fleas. And even if you don't see a flea, it doesn't mean they aren't there. This is probably due to a severe allergy, although it could also be fleas or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat her with a high quality flea treatment (e.g. advantage), then get her to the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try discovering the cause of the allergy. Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair the skin lesions (steroids and antibiotics). simultaneously you should start her on a prescription hypoallergenic diet for at least 2 months. Hopefully you will see some results after all this, if not you and your vet should consider putting her on a long term allergy treatment (Atopica).

This could possibly be a flea infestation. I recommend treating for fleas all year round if she is having this problem now. I would treat once a month. It also looks like she may have a skin infection on top of it. I would recommend a trip to your local veterinarian. If Aries is scratching or biting a lot they can give medication to help stop the itching and give antibiotics (if needed) to help with the infection. I hope Aries feels better soon. That depends on how long she has had that scab. It takes 10-14 days for most wounds to heal. If the scab has been there longer, it may not be related to fleas.
