My cat has a scabbed growth, losing weight and fur. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 6 lbs

My 1 year old cat had a large growth on his side that the dog kept nudging at and seems to have absest and scabbed in the past couple days. He's also lost weight and fur.?

From your description, the mass sounds like a ruptured abscess. The weight loss and fur loss may or may not be related. He should be evaluated by a veterinarian. If he has not been tested for feline leukemia and aids, he should be as soon as possibly. Additionally, he should be dewormed, vaccinated and treated for fleas.
