My cat has been having a lot of watery discharge coming out of his left eye several times a day. When I wipe it away using a tissue, the color is light to rust red. The eye is not swollen or red, he's not sneezing, and I don't see anything wrong with the eye. He's not squinting it. There doesn't appear to be any damage to the eye such as a cut or scratch (we've dealt with that in the other eye). Is this cause to take him to the vet? Will it get better on its own?
