My 4-month-old lamb has a runny nose. What treatment is best?

It's good that you went to check on Bob, because it does sound like he is not feeling well. Sheep don't tend to get too attached to people, so I really doubt it is psychological depression causing him to be down like this. This is more likely due to a respiratory disease, or possibly nasal bots. It's best to call a vet to come out and examine Bob. They can help identify the cause of this and ensure he gets proper treatment. If you are not necessarily interested in keeping Bob, then you may also consider calling an animal rescue organization in your area to take Bob and care for him. Sheru may have a respiratory infection. I would contact a veterinarian to come out and evaluate him as soon as possible. If you have access to antibiotics on the farm, you may want to administer a dose.

This lamb sounds extremely ill. You really need to get a vet out there to check him or you need to take him to a clinic for treatment especially if you have never had lambs before. That is going to give him the best chance at survival. Any number of illness and/or diseases can cause those symptoms. I would be worried about the possibility of Listeria, Border disease or copper deficiency but it could be any number of other things. Please get him to a vet.

Your sheep probably has an eye infection and needs to be seen by a vet right away so you can get the right eye medications on board. You can gently clean the discharge with a wet, warm cloth, but in order to know if the cornea is damaged your vet needs to stain the eye and do a full ocular exam.

This is usually treated with antibiotics. I recommend that you have your pup evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Hello. My concern would be that this lamb has pneumonia, a common problem with rejected neonates. You will need to contact a veterinarian to see if this is the case & get little Maize on a proper course of antibiotics.
