My cat won't eat meat, only dry food, and drinks excessive water?

For some cats this is normal. This is likely the case with Tinkle, because she has been eating like this for so long. They will only eat as much as they need and will maintain a lean body weight. This is only concerning if the cat is too thin. This could indicate a long history of parasitism (worms), or some other condition. If you are ever concerned that she is too thin, then I recommend having a vet doctor examine her for any abnormalities. Otherwise, if she is a 4-5 and acting normal, then it is great that she is so good at maintaining this lean body weight. Thin cats tend to be healthier and live longer than fat cats. Hi, I would worry and have her checked over unless you had just recently changed her diet and started feeding her dry biscuits for example. Best to have her checked over to pick up on signs sooner rather than later. She is definitely beautiful and looks so healthy ! Hopefully there is nothing to worry about.

Squishy may drink a lot of water because of diabetes, kidney problems, overactive thyroid gland, liver disease or even tumor development. You should take Squishy to your local vets for an appointment as she will need full clinical examination and possibly a blood test to find out what the problem is. In the meantime, you should let her drink as much as wants to maintain normal hydration - she will not get into any problems because of that.

Ginger needs to be examined by the veterinarian. Any pet that does not eat for 48 hours needs to be checked. It's possible she is sick or has gotten into something and it's best to play it safe. The doctor will likely want to check some bloodwork to make sure there's no evidence Ginger picked up an Advil or something else of that nature. I hope this helps.

Wet food does have a higher moisture content, so your cat may be getting enough water from the wet food that he doesn't need to drink anything additional. It's good that you see him drink a lot of water when he eats dry food, and you can add some more water to his wet food if you want just to make sure he is getting enough water :-)

Try mixing together the wet food and the dry food to see if Elaine will eat. If she won't eat this, then take her into a vet right away. It's quite serious when a cat won't eat, and it requires immediate vet attention. Best of luck.
