Getting a new cat is tricky. Cats are like humans, sometimes they need friends and sometimes they prefer to be alone. If you think Fright needs a friend, I would recommend looking for groups that would allow you to try it out for a week and see how Fright responds. Gender doesn't usually make a difference.
