I hate to hear that Gabe is having a problem. I would worry about an infection possibly related to the collar but could be due to something else. Clean it off as best you can and take him into the veterinarian tomorrow. It could be an abscess which may require lancing and draining. The doctor will likely prescribe antibiotics and pain medications. Try to keep Gabe from scratching it. Try cutting a tube sock to place around the wound. Just make sure nothing is too tight. I hope this helps.
