Is it safe to give my cat raw chicken thighs every day for teeth?

If Farafero is only eating cooked or raw meat as a diet, he is really missing out on other nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that would be beneficial for him, especially as a diabetic. I would recommend a more balanced diet such as the diet formulated by Hills (Called W/D) or Royal Canin (Glycobalance) you may purchase from your veterinarian. Also, I would try and avoid the raw chicken necks and other raw meats. Raw meats can make cats and dogs ill from being exposed to bacteria in the raw meat and if Farafero has dental and gum disease, the chicken neck may be painful for him to chew on. It would be ok to eat a small amount of chicken, as long as it is baked and not fried. She also needs to eat cat food because an all chicken diet is not a nutritional balanced diet for a cat. If she won't eat both and is only looking for chicken than you may need to feed only cat food so she will start eating it again. You could try different varieties and see which one she eats best.

It's lovely of you to want to help this street dog! No, I would not feed him raw chicken claws. Raw meat can cause poisoning from E.coli and salmonella, and the claws could cause damage to the GI tract and/or cause an obstruction. I would offer him dog food every time you see him. You might see if you can catch him or have an animal charity come and catch him so he can get veterinary attention and find a permanent home.

Wild cats are NOT domestic cats, and domesticated cats have very different nutritional needs. Wild cats also do not live as long and may have health issues related to poor nutrition. And while cats ARE obligate carnivores, they cannot get all their nutritional needs from only feeding one type of food (IE only chicken breast) as it doesn't provide a complete amino acid or nutritional profile for your cat. This is why many home-formulated diets require several ingredients and nutritional supplements to balance. It is important to feed your cat a balanced diet in order to prevent nutritional deficiencies, such as taurine deficiencies, which can lead to blindness, organ dysfunction or even death if not addressed. Commercial cat foods are best (and cheaper than formulating your own diet which may require several different ingredients and supplements to provide the right nutrient balance) as they provide your cat with the correctly formulated nutrients to prevent illness or deficiency. If you do want to feed a homemade diet, I highly recommend working with a veterinarian in person in order to formulate a diet for Meo's specific nutritional needs. Otherwise, feeding a commercial cat food will be the easiest, and least expensive option while still providing the right nutritional balance to keep him healthy.

It’s ok if you are feeding them as “treats” as long as they are cooked and not raw. It is not necessarily “good” to do. The main part of any kitten/cat’s diet should be a food formulated for kittens/cats.

First off, you are doing the right thing by feeding these kittens three times a day. When they turn six months old, you can feed them twice a day. Unfortunately a boiled chicken wing isn't a healthy and balanced part of a diet for a kitten, and I don't recommend giving them one at each meal. It would be better for their diets for them to have their daily intake of dry food divided into three portions for three meals a day, and once a week they can split a chicken wing as a treat. Chicken is something better given as a treat rather than a regular part of their diet because kittens also need calcium and other nutrients to grow properly. In addition, chicken wings themselves are higher in fat than other parts of the chicken such as the breast, and isn't the healthiest meat they could get as a treat. This could contribute to weight gain and obesity. The weights you have provided for them are fine, it sounds like they are going to be big kitties! I hope this helps!

Hello, unless he chokes on these bones he is not going to die immediately. Fortunately, chicken bones are digested readily due to their hollow make up. However, there is a chance that they may become entrapped in the small intestines and may cause damage to these. Over the next day monitor her for any vomiting, belly pain, or diarrhea.
