Why is my cat quiet? Is his leg plate hurting in cold weather?

Sounds like Garth is still experiencing quite a bit of pain. While there may not be any clear fractures, other injuries involving soft tissue structures such as ligaments, tendons, and muscles can be equally painful. There are also injuries to nerves that can result in pretty severe pain. Lastly, dislocations can also occur (particularly in the hip) that are extremely painful. However, that should have showed up clearly on the x-ray assuming they shot all the way up to hip joint. I would continue to give him his medication as prescribed and make sure he is rested and confined. However, if matters are not any better by the time the prescribed course of meds is complete, he will need to be brought back in to the veterinarian for reassessment.

I am sorry Tikvichko is not feeling well. If he is an outdoor cat I would be concerned about an abscess/infection or fracture/break in his bone. Most cats will heal from a broken bone over time however I would call your vet for pain medication for Tikvichko. Also I would recommend a good physical exam because if an infection is present he will need antibiotics to resolve the issue. Hope he feels better soon

That's a very tough situation. The leg could be out of socket, broken, or have had a neurologic injury. I would strongly consider driving out of your area to somewhere with an emergency clinic that is open today if that's at all an option. If Luke's hip really is out of place, the longer it's out the harder it will be to put it back because the large legs muscles start to constrict and then never relax, so the bones can't fit together the way they used to. If it's impossible to get to a vet until Monday, try to keep him quiet and not running around. Do not give any human pain medications because they are toxic to cats. Ouch, poor Static! Yes, she may have some pain still. I broke my humerus almost 12 years ago, and I remember how painful it was, even after surgery. I had trouble getting comfortable trying to sleep. If she has pain from the broken humerus, it may hurt to put pressure on her paw because it's putting weight on the leg. It does not mean her paw is broken. You can have her vet x-ray the paw to be safe, and talk to the vet to see if any pain medications might be beneficial to her. I hope this helps!

Rest is always the best way to resolve an injury. You can put him in a large dog kennel or small bathroom so he can jump around. Also a warm compress for 10-15 mins every 4-6 hours. Kisses for Shadow!

Poor Tom! Without seeing him I cannot say for sure what he has injured. He could have simply sprained a muscle or broke a toenail. Unfortunately, he could have also broken a bone. I would strongly recommend to have your vet take a look at him. Your vet will be able to localize the pain and take x-rays if needed. Nevertheless, with a temperature that high, your pet needs to see the veterinarian as soon as possible to get a correct diagnosis and treatment started. If there were not a fever associated, I would tell you to wait for 24 to 48 hours with complete rest of the cat with no movement. But because of the fever, you do need to see a veterinarian.
