Why does my outdoor cat have pus wounds, bald spots, and abscesses?

These could indeed be fight and bite wounds. Usually they heal by themselves, however sometimes they turn into abscesses which would need to be addressed. Check for swelling, pain , fluctuation, fever, pussy discharge. If any of this occurs, take Sivko to a veterinarian for an exam.

Abscesses required opening them up and antibiotics. The only thing you can do is clean the wounds twice daily with warm water and a mild soap and warm compress the wounds after each cleaning for the next 3-5 days. I wish you the best!

Tiger should be examined by a vet. That wound on his leg looks pretty bad, and he probably needs good antibiotics and pain medications. If Tiger goes outdoors, he may be getting into fights with other cats. Cat bites are notoriously nasty and can transmit some bad bacteria that cause infection and abscesses. If these wounds are not from infected cat bites, then I would be concerned about an autoimmune disorder or a severe body-wide infection.

These sound like wounds from being in a bad fight with another cat. It’s best to have these treated by your veterinarian if you can. In the meantime clean each wound with hydrogen peroxide and then apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on them. I’m concerned about the ones around his anus. There may be a tear in the rectum that may be very serious and need a veterinary exam to determine if the feces are coming out the wound. It sounds like he had an abscess from an injury, probably an altercation with another cat. A veterinarian would likely not suture it anyway to avoid trapping any contaminants and causing another abscess. It looks pretty clean with healthy granulation tissue forming. The antibiotics, even intermittent have probably helped keep further infection at bay. Keep an eye on it, if he will let you, clean it gently with a damp clean washcloth and keep any debris or infected material cleaned out. It should heal from the outside of the wound to the inside, gradually shrinking and closing over the open area. As long as he continues to eat and drink and behave normally, and and the wound continues to look clean with pink and healthy tissue, he should do fine. He needs to eat, going without eating for more than a few days will cause liver problems in cats which would require a vet visit to be treated.

It sounds like Cocoa has one or two abscesses....which are deep pockets of infection. Most of the time these are caused by fight wounds in cats, but there can be other causes such as impacted anal sacs. Cocoa is going to need to see your veterinarian to get a prescription antibiotic to resolve the infection. Your vet will also clean the wounds and if this is too painful, she may require some sedation. Please try to get her to your vet as soon as you can.

It sounds like Kitty most likely has an infection in his skin. Abscesses are very common in outdoor cats. I would recommend to make an appointment at the veterinarian's office to have him checked out and the abscesses treated. They may also want to test him for feline leukemia.
