Is my cat pregnant? She has milk, sleeps a lot, and seeks attention.

Hello, I think my cat may be pregnant. I went to go check her Teats and when I held it milk came out. Also she's been sleeping a lot and she's been going under my blanket and she's been rubing on me and trying to get ALOT of attention from me witch is unlike her because she does NOT like to be botherd, is my cat pregnant?

She is likely pregnant and I would expect some kittens within the next couple of months. Taking care of a pregnant cat and kittens is costly and time-consuming, so if you happen to not be willing/able to care for and adopt-out kittens, then I would consider getting her spayed sometime soon. If the pregnant cat is producing milk I would not be overly worried. As long as the kittens are taken care of it doesn't matter by whom. The cat that has not given birth yet may be pregnant or may be having a false pregnancy. If she doesn't deliver soon you should have her checked by a vet.

I really recommend you have these cats spayed after they have weaned these kittens. There are millions of kittens/cats that are euthanized each year across the country because there aren't enough homes for them. Please don't continue to contribute to the overpopulation problem. The only people who should be breeding cats are those with purebreds.

Just by looking at Cuddles, it's impossible to say how far along she is in her pregnancy. I would take her into the vet for x-rays to see how far along she is, and the x-rays will tell you how many kittens she is expecting. Best of luck.

Hello. It does sound like your cat is pregnant. Female cats often seem to become more affectionate & content when they are pregnant. The hair loss may be related to normal shedding, but often in pregnancy, some hair loss will occur. I would switch her food from a maintenance or adult cat food to a kitten food. My pregnant cat is sleeping a lot. Is she going into labor soon?

Although the timing would be right, normally signs of labour include restlessness and nesting. The closer to the birth they are, they more queens tend to sleep because of the extra weight put on and being more tired and less agile. So in general I would not say that this is a sign of imminent labour.

7 months although not ideal is not uncommon for kittens to be pregnant and complications are quite rare, I would recommend you arrange a full check up with your vet to confirm she is pregnant and the bloating is not caused by any other issue and to check she is in generally good health before the delivery. I recommend restricting her to indoors and ideally to a quiet room with no through traffic so she can settle in and become comfortable before she has the kittens as the weather is much too cold in the UK now for kittens to be born outside. It is worthwhile feeding kitten food in the last 2 weeks (once milk is developing) to increase calorie intake and energy levels

My clingy, active cat has a big belly and walks slow. Is she pregnant?

She very well may be pregnant. Her belly does look abnormally big there. Watch for signs of pregnancy such as mammary gland engorgement, continued weight gain, increase in appetite. Also you can have her seen by your vet for an exam to check for fetal heartbeats or to identify the fetal skulls, via radiograph (as early as 45 days gestation). If she is suspected to be pregnant then it's also best to feed her kitten food which is going to satisfy her high calorie requirements and ensure she makes a good supply of milk for her kittens. Is my cat pregnant or in heat? Swollen nipples, licking, crying.

HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Her belly and mammary glands do not look distended enough to be pregnant unless she is early pregnant (2-4 weeks). I think she might be in heat. I would try to keep her inside as it doesn't take cats very long to get the deed done! Cats are pregnant for 60 days, so if her belly and mammary glands continue to get larger then she is likely pregnant and you'd have kittens 4-6 weeks from now. Good luck!
