My cat gave birth. How to feed her, help her gain weight, and spay?

I would feed her wet/canned kitten food during the last three weeks of pregnancy so she hass enough nutrition for making her babies grow properly. Oncee she has given birth you can keep feeding her the kitten food, so there will be an easy transition when the kittens will start to eat solid food at around 6 weeks. Find homes for them now, but do not give them away before they are 12 weeks old, as they will still need mama to teach them to be good kitties, to hunt, what is safe, what is not, etc. They will also need their siblings to play and play hunt and get coordination.

She may not be feeling well or have an infection. You should take Minggay and her kittens to your veterinarian for an exam. You should also feed her with kitten food now as she will need the extra nutrition. Try some canned kitten food.

Make sure the kittens stay warm. If they are not nursing well or she is not producing milk then you can bottle feed them to help. She should be fed kitten food as it has more calories and nutrients to help her keep her weight up and produce enough milk

It’s not normal for a pet to lose weight after being spayed. In fact most cats have a weight gaining problem after they get altered. I would recommend having her examined by your vet and also to have her stool checked for parasites. Most weight loss is due to an intestinal worm in pets this young. Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. The best way to get Snoshi healthy and better is to try to get her to eat good quality food with water added. Canned kitten food is going to be best for this. Also, make sure she has a cool place to go, maybe an area with a fan to help escape the heat. Make sure she has access to clean water at all times. Try to get the kitten eating kitten food as well, so that she isn't drinking off Snoshi anymore. Good luck with Snoshi!

I would talk to your vet about checking her thyroid hormones. It is probably unlikely but definitely possible that her thyroid is too high causing weight loss and hair loss. I would also make sure she is on a high quality dry and canned cat food to help increase the caloric intake. If you aren't planning on breeding her, I would consider getting her spayed as long as she is healthy enough per your vet. I would definitely continue the vitamins. Also, I would talk to your vet about ruling other things out if they haven't already like parasites, giardia, feline leukemia, feline aids, and more. I hope this helps!

At this point in her pregnancy, you should feed her kitten food. If she does turn out to not be pregnant, it will not hurt her to feed the kitten food right now. You will feed her this diet until the kittens are weaned and no longer dependent upon her for milk. The dry cat food is just fine for her. Do not give her anything like milk as this may upset her stomach. You should also talk to your veterinarian about deworming her for parasites.
