Can poor food cause anemia and a bloated stomach in my young cat?

I'm sorry that Sylvester is anemic! It is very concerning that his belly is bloated, as this can be a sign of internal bleeding or accumulation of fluid. I recommend having him seen by a vet immediately, or as soon as possible to determine what the cause is. Your vet can perform an ultrasound of the belly and remove some of the fluid. After physical examination, the vet may recommend diagnostics such as blood work or x-rays to determine the best possible treatment.

I am assuming when you refer to the blood gets low - this mean that Lorah is anemic and having a low red blood cell count. The red blood cells can be low due to loss (bleeding), destroyed (auto immune, red blood parasites) or not being made (bone marrow problems). Hi there. The spleen is a lymphatic organ, somewhat similar to lymphnodes. It can enlarge with many different types of problems such as feline leukemia virus, FIV, FIP, and even cancers like lymphoma. If blood work has not been done yet then I would recommend blood work and an ultrasound of the abdomen. I would encourage you to discuss doing an ultrasound guided needle aspirate of the spleen with your veterinarian. This may help determine what the underlying problem is. If his stomach seems significantly bloated it could be a sign of ascites or fluid in the abdomen. I think it would be best to see a vetas soon as you can and an emergency visit might be the best option. They may recommend blood work and x-rays after a physical exam.

Oh dear, this sounds potentially serious. I recommend taking Phoebe right in to the vet. If Phoebe is not eating or drinking, and has bloody stool, she could quickly become dehydrated. Furthermore, she has had to be expending a great deal of energy nursing those kittens, and I'm concerned about her lethargy. Your vet will likely want to check a fresh fecal sample for intestinal parasites, particularly due to her pot belly and bloody stool. They will be able to give her fluids to combat dehydration, and may also recommend bloodwork to check her organ function and watch for anemia since she's losing blood through her stool. Hi there! Bella doesn't look bloated from the pictures you shared, at least not enough to be medically concerned without additional symptoms. If she develops any digestive issues (vomiting/diarrhea), or becomes lethargic, a visit to the vet is in order. For right now, it's probably just fine to watch her.
