Cat peeing drops after catheter removal: Is it normal? How long? Food?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | neutered

My cat got its catheter removed yesterday. Today he pees in drops multiple times. How long will it take for him to return back to normal peeing habits? And is this normal? Also will feeding him Monge VetSolution Renal and Oxalate really help him get better?

The special food should help a lot, it is highly recommended. he should get back to normal within a week, it's quite normal for him to urinate in drips in the first few days as the urethra is likely to be inflamed and swollen.
