My cat has a thin fibrous filament sticking out of a small wound on his front paw about 1". It is almost like a tendon fiber. He does not limp but does lift the paw when standing. No pain or swelling around the injury except for right at the base of where the fiber exits his body, he whines when I touch the base. I am confident in my ability to care for wounds and even an abscess should it get infected, I have worked with many "outdoor cat" wounds before but should I worry about the fiber?
