Why is my cat suddenly in pain, walking strangely, and can't jump?

it sounds like your kitty may be in pain. This could be from an injury, or arthritis. I suggest you take Felix to your veterinarian for an exam and possibly x-rays. If he has arthritis pain, your vet will likely prescribe meloxicam for him, which is an NASAID which reduces inflammation and pain.

I’d be concerned that Holly is in pain, and that’s causing her to walk different and rest often. Ouch, poor Felix! If he can't walk on it, it looks infected, and he's hardly eaten or drank today, you should take him into a vet right away. It's likely very painful to him, causing him to not be able to put pressure on it. Severe pain would keep him from eating and drinking as well. The wound needs to be cleaned, he will need antibiotics for the infection, and pain medication. The vet can do all of this for him. Poor Tyr! My cat is also named Tyr! You can't rule out his leg being broken without an x-ray. He is in a lot of pain if he won't walk on the leg, and unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him. Many human ones are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. Poor guy. It is highly possible from your description, that Charlie luxated his hip joint (pulled out of the socket). I would highly recommend taking him to your vet to have x-rays done to confirm, have them stabilize the joint, and then they can get him on pet friendly pain meds. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do for him at home, except to confine him to a small room away from any other animals and bring food and water to him if he is having a hard time himself. There are NO safe over the counter pain meds for dogs and cats, especially cats since they are all toxic, so please don't give him any or this will make him very ill.
